Swan Financial Services is a family business first and foremost.
In 1974 my father Don began offering advice relating to financial services from an office in Trafalgar Road, Greenwich, South East London. He was then working with Albany Life, a Life and pensions provider.
I joined Don and Albany Life in 1996. I had originally joined the industry in 1983 and had gained extensive experience in a variety of major financial institutions working with the TSB and Abbey National and an Independent Financial Adviser.
I also spent some time running a small business at an antiques market at the weekends for a few years.
Luke, my brother, joined the business in 2001 as an associate partner and adviser.
In 1997 there was a change when Albany Life was sold to Canada Life and then Canada Life moved their advisers to Independent Adviser status in November 2002. This was a move we were expecting to take, and I had planned for. I returned, and Don & Luke moved to, being an Independent Financial Adviser, the best and most appropriate way to deliver Financial Advice.
In these times we had moved offices from Greenwich to Maidstone, Maidstone to Croydon then finally to Bromley. In March 2003 we made a move back to Greenwich having offices in Greenwich Market.
In March 2004 we moved our service provider to Positive Solutions, now owned by Quilter, and are now still working as Independent Financial Advisers.
I have been the sole adviser since 2010, following the death of Don in 2009 and a serious illness of my brother, and am now working from my office in Tonbridge located close to home. I trade as an Individual IFA for families and small to medium companies.
Positive Solutions and Quilter Financial Planning have the systems and process’s available to give me the ability to run as a sole trading IFA safely and effectively and keeps me and my clients happy and profitable.
I am experienced in whole life planning; that is setting plans that can be relied on for the foreseeable future and the unexpected pit falls. No frills advice in an affordable manner, friendly and for life.
